Where to Find Supplies

The Inn: Common Room

From left to right as you face them, the chests in the common room are for:

  • Raw materials and building blocks, other than stones and ores (which go in the forge). Examples: earth, wood, netherrack, obsidian.
  • Crafted items, monster drops, dyes, and other miscellany. Examples: flowers, fences, maps, string.
  • Food ingredients and prepared food.

The Inn: Attic

This storage area is for things we have so much of that they're a nuisance to store wherever they would normally go. Currently, those items are:

  • arrows
  • bones
  • cobblestone
  • gunpowder
  • melon
  • redstone
  • saplings (oak)
  • signs
  • string
  • wheat seeds

Please leave only full stacks (of stacking items) in the attic chests.

The Garden

The garden chest is for things which could be used right next to it in the garden. It contains all kinds of seeds and saplings, bonemeal, and hoes.

The Forge

There are two chests at the forge, for supplies that tend to either go into or come out of furnaces. The chest on the left is for cobblestone and raw ore. The chest on the right is for baked stone and bricks, metal bars and blocks, and glass.

To-Do List

Walls and Roads

  • Move wall behind inn back a little (monster spawns are preventing bedding in the back rooms).

Building and Excavating

  • Library, probably expanding or replacing the enchanting house.

Miscellaneous

  • -

Finished

  • Basement for the inn.
  • Reorganize paths to reflect actual usage.
  • Move the wall torches down to the level of the rest of the fence, with the possible exception of those above the gate (since they mark where the ladders are).
  • Expand the garden the rest of the way into the corner and add pumpkins and sugar.
  • Expand the wall, probably to the north this time.
  • Add a new gate near the nether portal.
  • Since the double door bug has been fixed, add the extra doors to the existing gates.
  • Maybe set up a readily-accessible public branch mine (e.g. from the manhole)?
  • Gatehouses.
  • Add the forge to the wiki.
  • Make the mushroom farm safe.
  • Watchtower. Someone suggested this could be part of the inn; I'm leaning against but haven't decided.
  • Finishing putting up streetlamps along major roads.
  • Perhaps set up a generic mob grinder near town? That is, using a dark room without a spawner. Somewhere near enough that it stays loaded but far enough that we don't have to listen to the monsters all the time. (This idea inspired by the mushroom farm.)
  • Make a piston door to the mushroom farm so you don't have to mine to get in.
  • Build a road to the nether portal.
  • Light the nether portal road.
  • Shore up a nether path to ZP and then rail it.
  • Public park, perhaps north of the inn.
  • Finish NPC village road.

Town Discussion

Watchtower Storage and Vault

I love the watchtower! It looks great. I was thinking about what we could use its storage chests for--what about weapons and armor, for quick access in a theoretical call to arms? Easy enough to make a couple of suits of steel, a few swords, a few bows, etc. to keep on reserve. That'd also give us a good place to store our arrow cache.

Relatedly, I was thinking about designating a safe place to store any particularly valuable goods that we want to share but don't want to be taken or used lightly--diamond, mostly, but perhaps also glowstone, metal block reserves, blaze rods/ender pearls/ender eyes, or anything else that we'd be annoyed if it disappeared. It'd be accessible to citizens but its location not advertised. Seem like a good idea?

Dragon Clan Embassy

ProphetOfCod has requested permission to construct an embassy for the Clan of the Dragon in Newton. I'm a little reluctant but willing; how do others feel about this?
